Geode Bottle Stopper Makeover
If you’re looking for a show-stopping party favor…see what I did there ;) bottle stoppers always a fun and practical choice! I recently threw a “Cocktails on the Rocks” birthday party for my dear friend Jenny who is truly a “gem,” and I wanted the favor to tie into her geode party theme. Consequently, I was thrilled when I came across these beauties on Amazon (pictured on the right) but they weren’t the right color and needed a bit of embellishment. Keep reading to see how I transformed them into the perfect geode bottle stopper (pictured on the left).

add some gleam
Since these bottle stoppers are made of glass, the facets are very one dimensional. To add some more depth and sparkle I lightly colored around the edge of the crystal with an oil-based gold paint pen. As I colored, I was careful not to press to hard so that only the raised edges got painted.
shift the color
If purple is the color you’re going for then you’re finished! However, if you want to shift the color to blue then that can be achieved by simply painting the back of your bottle stopper with some blue acrylic paint.

PARTY TIP: If you’re having a formal party, leave a bottle stopper at each guest’s place setting.
PARTY TIP: If you’d like to wrap your bottle stopper party favors, white organza bags with a geode gift tag work perfectly!
