The Decorations
Black Ceramic Cauldron Vase
Moroccan Wooden Charger
Dried Florals & Sola Wood Flowers
Mini Broom
Faux Pumpkins
Potion Bottles
Neutral Table Runner
You can turn practically any container into a vase with the use of a little floral foam and imagination and a cauldron is perfect for Halloween! I found this ceramic cauldron at Target and used a moroccan wooden charger from HomeGoods to give it some height and emphasis.
When it comes to flowers, you can’t go wrong with dried florals and sola wood flowers! They’re beautiful, add wonderful texture to your table and the best part is that they’re everlasting! No more worrying about wilting or dying flowers that you have to change out!
These fun potion bottles actually light up and were a Target Dollar Spot find, as were the assortment of faux pumpkins. The back and white striped pumpkins are from Dollar Tree but came with a black stem, which I painted gold for contrast.
The Place Setting
Gold Cloth Napkins
DIY Wooden Witch Hat Name Cards
It’s always fun to use something unique as place cards. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to visually reinforce your decorative theme. These cute wooden witch hat ornaments are from Dollar Tree, which I painted with acrylic paint to match my color scheme. I used hot glue to attach sequins to the painted band then used a silver permanent marker to write each guest’s name on the brim.
Layering a variety of textures and finishes adds loads of visual interest to your place setting even when you’re keeping things neutral. I love the mixture of the gold cloth napkin, palm leaf plate, metallic charger and woven placemat!
That being said, it’s also nice to have a pop of color or contrast. These spiderweb napkin rings are from Amazon and I love how they add some drama against the neutral colors.
